Association of Persons Affected by Addictions

Based in Dallas, TX, the Association of Persons Affected by Addiction (APAA) is a leading Recovery Community Organization that encourages and supports personal recovery by offering peer-to-peer assistance that helps to support recovery, reduce relapse, and promote high-level wellness in individuals, their families and the community. APAA mission is to educate all segments of the community about addiction & mental health recovery, and provide recovery support services. Since 1988, APAA staff continues to improve the quality of life for individuals, family and communities in North Texas who are challenged, seeking or in substance use and/or mental health recovery.

Better Life Technologies Group

Better Life Technologies Groups, Inc. is a minority-owned digital healthcare OEM specializing in the development of wearable diagnostic technology for the purpose of reading, measuring, monitoring, reporting and tracking chemical composition & vitality within the human body. Based in San Diego, CA, the company focuses on the development of non-invasive universal diagnostic sensors (UDS). The firm holds connected device patents as well as developed products with the ability to wirelessly transmit data to connected devices to help save lives.  Founded in 2015, the company has been recognized for developing highly disruptive technologies that detect and monitor health vitals.

The Beyu Group

The Beyu Group is the parent company of Beyu Caffé, and Beyu Blue Coffee based in Durham, NC. Established in 2009, Beyu Caffe is rooted in a love for coffee, community and bringing people together in a place where they can simply be themselves. Known for its soulful sophistication and mellow vibes, the downtown Durham location has been a local institution - a place to have a power breakfast meeting, catch up over brunch with friends, or enjoy  live music. The Beyu Group is comprised of four fast casual and grab-and-go locations: Beyu Caffé Downtown Durham; Beyu Caffe Boxyard RTP; Beyu Caffé at Duke Law, and Beyu Blue Coffee, also at Duke University. The company's mission is to uplift and inspire communities through excellence, which is achieved in part by helping those in their own backyard. A portion of Beyu proceeds from online retail coffee purchases support the work of its community service initiative, The Beyu Food Project.

Center for Energy Education

The Center for Energy Education (C4EE) is a nonprofit organization and a center for renewable energy research, industry innovation, and workforce development combine to demonstrate excellence in renewable energy and create economic growth.  C4EE is a hub for the renewable energy industry, a hands-on training ground for solar installations, a destination for students and families to learn about renewable energy resources, and an education and training facility that provides the knowledge and skills needed to pursue a career in the growing renewable energy industry. C4EE is proud to create a presence and awareness for renewable energy in the Eastern and Midwestern United States, having offices in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and Virginia. C4EE provides a place to raise awareness about renewable energy and its importance locally, regionally, and globally.

Centre for Homeownership

The Centre for Homeownership & Economic Development Corporation, Inc. (CHOEDC) was created in 2004 to assist individuals with homebuyer education and financial literacy. CHOEDC educates consumers about homeownership programs and how to find available financial capital and affordable housing opportunities, as well as CHOEDC delivers programs to address gaps in workforce preparedness and job placement. The Centre has served more than 31,300 individuals and families throughout North Carolina’s rural communities. CHECDC office locations include Hillsborough, Raleigh, Creedmoor, Charlotte and Wilmington, and its Disaster Recovery Center that serves Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Cumberland, Duplin, Jones, New Hanover, Pender and Roberson County.

Dynasty5 is an event promotions firm that specializes in events for the mature professional. Dynasty5 has established a reputation for being the premiere event promotions company in North Carolina. Monthly functions are designed for networking and entertainment. The "Triangle's Original First Friday" is for those mature adults with discerning tastes who are looking to socialize and brainstorm with like-minded individuals. George Henry White Memorial Health
and Education Center

The George Henry White Memorial Health and Education Center is a living memorial honoring Congressman George Henry White, (born in Rosindale and raised in this area), preserving his courageous legacy fighting for justice and empowerment. Located in Bladen county next to the border with Columbus County, the community center also highlights the rich history of the area: Farmer’s Union, St. James, Bolton, Pembroke, Welches Creek, Lake Waccamaw and other surrounding communities. The Center provides a venue for activities that improves the lives of citizens, and serves as an education center for classes on health care, computer skills, financial management, community empowerment, public meetings, projects, and more.

Our Minds Our Voices

Established in 2017, Our Minds Our Voices - Woman of Distinction Awards was launched to support National Women's History Month held in March. The annual event recognizes Women in various professions who are making a difference in education, medicine, social justice, public service, civil service, mental health, entrepreneurship, humanities, technology, and fashion & beauty. During the day-long network gathering which includes vendors, workshops and speakers, 

attendees are inspired by the achievements of Award recipients. 

Rebuild Communities NC

Founded in 1999, Rebuild Communities NC is a tax-exempt non-profit Community Housing Redevelopment Organization. The organization’s mission is to address barriers to growth and development in minority and low wealth neighborhoods, and provide healthy, safe, and affordable communities. Rebuild Communities NC works through Community Development Housing Initiatives and Economic Development Coalitions to promote positive aspects of African American History and Culture to increase community awareness of African American contributions. Rebuild Communities NC offers workforce development training, homebuyer education, financial literacy, fair housing and lending education, along with small & women owned business entrepreneurship programs to assist in economic mobility and wealth creation.

The DOME Group LLC

The DOME Group, LLC is a premier producer of live entertainment events, including top-billed concerts and music festivals, catering to both urban and mainstream markets nationwide. The DOME Group LLC owns and operates the Durham NC-based Art of Cool Music Festival. The company’s extensive portfolio boasts some of the most successful performances to hit the Detroit and Triangle area markets in decades.
